We gather and use certain information about individuals who use this website. We use this information to understand better how visitors use this website and to present timely and relevant information to visitors. This data is used only by The Western International School of Shanghai for the stated purposes and is never shared with third parties.

MEDIA

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

CONTACT FORMS

We use forms to allow visitors to the website to easily reach out to the school to enquire about admission, subscribe to our monthly newsletter, and join an Open House event or request a tour (among other things). The information from these forms is securely held on our mainland China servers. The data is only used by The Western International School of Shanghai for the stated purpose and only maintained for as long as necessary (in the case of tours or scholarship requests) or until you decide to unsubscribe (in the case of subscriptions).

COOKIES

If you leave a comment on our site, you may opt-in to save your name, email address, and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

HOW LONG WE RETAIN YOUR DATA

The comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely if you leave a comment. This is so we can automatically recognize and approve any follow-up comments instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

WHAT RIGHTS DO YOU HAVE OVER YOUR DATA

If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us.
