Weekend Recap – U17 Match Against the BISS Lions

As a team, Stoke did a good job controlling the game and obtaining possession. Yet, at times, we were unlucky trying to finish the chances we had. After a long ball, the opposing striker broke through the back line to put Stoke defense under some pressure and ended up conceding a penalty. After conceding and going behind, we showed great character and drive to get ourselves back in the game and our competitive edge to control the game and play our style of football. We started off the scoring with Zach, followed by another 2 from Oskari to finish the game Stoke 3 and Lions 1. Goals and assists include: Oskari – 2 goals, Zacharias – 1 goal, 1 assist, Maximillian – 1 assist, Tomasso  – 1 assist

Weekend Recap – U15 Match Against Ebbesand

Turning up to the pitch covered in snow, our warm up involved clearing the lines so the ref could see the pitch. The game started and was not an easy game for us to play our normal quick passing game due to the very slippery and fast-paced pitch. However, with our high press, we managed to cause Ebbesand problems and  got 3 quick goals (all from Max). Our set pieces from corners were great and a number of times we had great chances to score. Our smallest player on the pitch (Emile) managed to score and hit the crossbar. We continued to work hard with their keeper having to pull off a number of good saves and us hitting the post and crossbar a number of times. The second half was much of the same. It was a well fought game between two teams in harsh weather conditions. Overall a very good win on a very cold and snowy Saturday. Stoke City 7 – 0 Ebbesand. Max- 4, Josh-1, James-1, Emile-1.

Weekend Recap – U12 Match Against Ebbesand Green

This Saturday was the last game of the Winter season for the Under 12s we were playing Ebbesand Green. The game started great for Stoke as we tackled them straight from kick off and broke forward and scored inside 30 seconds. Ebbesand were much bigger than us, but they couldn’t get a grip on the game as we passed the ball around very quickly and again scoring 2 more goals in quick concession. They started to get into the game with 20 minutes played but still not really getting any clear chances their best chance came after 25 mins when our keeper had to make a great save but straight from there we went down the other end to make it 4-0. We switched off a little bit for the last 5 mins of the first half and they managed to score a late goal in the top corner of the goal. 2nd half kicked off and Ebbesand were more up for it and were creating more chances they, had a free kick from 20 yards out which they managed to score from which gave stoke a problem and made them realize they had to turn on the style which they sure did managing to win a penalty and converted. With our boys now more pumped up are 3 Spanish boys decided to play football between them self’s passing to one another and 3 times ending in a goal some great football. The game ended 8-4 with two late goals from Ebbesand. Goals scored from Inigo 5 goals- yes 5, Brandon 2 and Pablo 1. This made the u12s finish in a very good 3rd spot in the league which is a great achievement for all the boys.

Weekend Recap- U10 and U8 Matches Against Axsil

U10s played Axsil on the weekend 3 times with the scores ending 4-1, 5-1 and 2-1 to Axsil. Although all three games ended in defeat there was plenty of positives to take out of the team considering we were missing key players. There was some fantastic football played in all the games from both teams. Ben was fantastic in defense always looking to bring the ball out. Udo scored a goal in each of the games and was fantastic on the ball. Seb worked his socks off in midfield and was fantastic at organizing the team making sure his teammates were in the right positions. And a special mention to U8 Alek’s  who stepped up the play in the U10 as we were short on players and even went on to play for the U8s afterward. It was a fantastic morning of football against very good and organized Axsil teams.

U8s had a tough test up against Axsil who were very organized and played excellent football at times. U8s give it their all and didn’t stop until the final whistle. We were very unlucky to get a couple of goals. Jaydon and Kai had two fantastic efforts saved by Axsils goalkeeper. It was a good day of football a lot of playing time for U8s who were missing key players.
