Helping our students find a home after WISS
At the Western International School of Shanghai, we believe the college process is one of self-discovery and personal growth. We help our students find the best fit for them through a personalized, student-centered, one-on-one approach. Starting in Grade 10, students will identify and discuss with our College Counselor a range of important factors that may influence university choice, such as country, career interest, academic program, and cost. Grade 11 and 12 students will work closely with the College Counselor on identifying possible career choices and narrowing down their university lists.

University Careers Counseling

University Day

University Day is an event that takes place in October which is open to all Secondary students’ in Grades 9-12 and their families. Families and their students are able to attend a University Fair and learn more about the admissions process through various presentations presented by universities from around the world. In addition, there are various workshops on topics of interest such as goals of the college counseling process and the importance of standardized testing.

University Fairs and University Visits

WISS hosts two University Fairs each year and actively recruits universities from around the world to attend our campus and present to our students. WISS hosts over 50 universities each year from around the globe.

University and Careers Counseling Course

In the second semester of Grade 10, students will take a course with the University and Careers Counselor to help them consider what careers and occupations they might wish to pursue in the future. Our students also have the opportunity to consider what countries and programs of study are most suitable for them.
