Families joining the WISS community for the first time have often remarked how warmly they were welcomed when their children enrolled in our school.
WISS values and encourages parental involvement, inviting parents to become an integral part of the school community. Their involvement is essential in contributing to and building a community that fosters personal and educational excellence.
In the classroom and in the events
At WISS, parents are welcomed in the classroom to support the teacher during group activities or reading and writing tasks.
Some events such as the Christmas bazaar or the Flew market and many more are coordinated by WISS parents and students.
The WISS Choir
For those parents who love to sing or just want to try singing, they can join the WISS choir that is the only choir in Shanghai having parents, students and teachers singing altogether.
In 2010/2011, the WISS choir has participated in major music events around Shanghai.
Parents Advisory Board (PAB)
Role of the PAB
The PAB is an advisory group of WISS parents. Its central role is to provide advice and recommendations to the Director and investors on the stewardship of the school. The PAB's central responsibility is to ensure that the school's mission is relevant and vital to the community it serves and to monitor the success of the school in fulfilling its mission. The PAB's central focus is the present and future well-being of the school, the students, the staff, and the families who make up the school community.
