A Conversation about learning for the Future

The March issue of Shanghai Family magazine contained an interview with WISS Director Dr. Alfonso Orsini, where he spoke about the current world situation, the future our children may encounter and the needs that education today must fullfill.
“Knowing how to think is the key skill for the future. If you learn about math as just a way to solve each kind of problem and don’t understand what you’re doing, then when you’re confronted with a new problem, even if the concept at its heart is the same, you’re not going to succeed. If a child is posed a challenging and insightful question, the process of answering the question will force him to understand the concept of the problem. “
