Early Years
WISS defines the Early Years as those from three to six years of age. The programme comprises of the Nursery (age 21/2 – 4 ), both half and full-day programmes, Pre-Kindergarten (ages 4-5) and Kindergarten (ages 5-6) classes.
The PYP curriculum underpins teaching and learning in the Early Years at WISS. The flexible nature of the programme allows teachers to support young children's interests, build up self esteem and confidence, and respond to spontaneous events, as well as support the development of skills in all cognitive areas.
The PYP acknowledges that young children are constructing their own meaning and provides a framework that gives crucial support to them to be active learners and inquirers, providing a sound beginning to the continuum of learning that goes on throughout the PYP.
Early Years Education Facility has been designed with young children in mind, providing ample space for play and learning activities. The programme allows young children extended periods of time to explore and investigate, with a variety of materials, both indoors and outdoors, in order to learn about themselves, other people and the world around them.

make choices and decisions
use materials in flexible and imaginative ways

The Early Years for any child's life is a time of rapid development and progression particularly in the physical, social and emotional domains. For many children, these years also mark the first transition from home to life outside of the family and to a new physical environment.
The relationships which young children establish with other students and adults are of central importance to development and learning.WISS provides a secure, supportive learning environment in which your child is valued and respected, and where positive relationships with parents are nurtured.
